Spreading the love of Swing dance since 1997

In the Spring of 1997, Mike Ringer and Tina Eriksen started a swing night in downtown Sacramento.  They taught a basic lesson and played music the rest of the night to a very small crowd of about 10 people. However, Mike and Tina’s love of the dance, music, people, and vintage clothes was infectious, and within a few months the venue was packed.

They proceeded to advertise in the News and Review as well as put flyers on cars at record stores, but it was word-of-mouth that kept the people coming. The friendly and fun atmosphere made people want to come back for more. That is what has kept it alive for all these years.

Sactown Swings is the longest running swing night in Northern California. We offer beginning and intermediate lessons and dancing every Wednesday night. Our current home is at Elks Lodge #6 on Riverside Blvd. in the heart of the beautiful Pocket/Greenhaven area of Sacramento. Guests often comment on how inviting the Sactown Swings family is. Our crew of lively dancers will keep you on the floor all night.
