 Danny grew up in San Pablo, California and started playing saxophone at the age of eight. He discovered a place at the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts in Richmond, CA for him to explore his passion and dream of becoming a professional jazz saxophonist. He started playing semi-professionally when he was sixteen and continues to perform all over the Bay Area and Central Valley. By the age of 17, Danny was playing up to 5 nights a week in San Francisco, paying his way through college. Over the course of his training, Danny has had the honor of studying with Tony Archimedes, Frank Sumares, and Mel Martin. By playing the saxophone, Danny feels that he has been able to express his most inner passions out to audiences all of these years. Danny is currently on staff with the California Health Care Foundation in Sacramento, where he lives with his wife and two children, both of whom are also musicians. Danny continues to pursue his love of performing, and is actively involved in touring, recording and playing live soul, funk, blues and salsa.

Elvis Cantú is a Wild Records recording artist that hails from the great state of Texas and plays a traditional style of wild Rockabilly that always gets people moving and shaking. The instrumentation consists of electric guitar, upright bass, and drums, and when these guys hit the stage, the energy that follows quickly fills the room with light hearts and dancing feet. A night with Elvis will most assuredly be a night that you will never forget.  

He rocks the house every single time! Sactown Swings loves Elvis Cantú. He plays fun, danceable tunes that always keep us on the floor.

San Lyon is a Swing Jazz quartet based in Los Angeles, Ca. and have been playing together since 2019. They specialize in jazz music from the early 20th century as well as original vintage sounding songs. 916 Swing, Midtown Stomp, and Sactown Swings are teaming up to bring you the hottest swing night in Sacramento! Swing Battle Royale will feature West Coast Swing in the back room and Lindy Hop, Balboa, Charleston, and Collegiate Shag in the front room at the famous Press Club in Midtown, Sacramento. Ron Thompson and Johnny Ochoa will dj in the Lindy Hop room.

This event is sponsored by the California Dance Festival coming to Sacramento June 20-23, 2025.

Dance lessons will be taught by Ben O’Neal abd Ailce Jeng from SoCal. The lesson will blend West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, and Balboa.

Doors at 6:00 (Dinner and Drinks - Dance lesson 7:10-8:00 - Social dancing 8:00-Midnight. Around 10:00ish we will come together in one room to bring you an amazing strictly swing competition featuring WCS and Lindy Hop dancers.
