Back by popular demand, this is Dyana’s second year performing for our holiday party. She brought the cheer last year and we are so happy to have her back. Sacramento’s sweetest Rockabilly band, Dyana & The Cherry Kings will swing dance you ‘till you drop! With their sultry sound and swanky style, you can’t help but move to the music. Inspired by 50’s rock’n’roll and jump blues, the energy is high, the sound is seductive and sure to leave you wanting more. The Leaping Blennies are the new Cherry Kings, and they are a musical force to be reckoned with. Since this is our Holiday party, Dyana will be playing some classic Cherry Kings’ tunes as well as some holiday standards.

We are so excited to welcome back Carl Sonny Leyland to Sactown Swings! He has been described as the greatest living Boogie Woogie piano player on the planet, and we agree. The first time he played for us, we had our biggest night since 2019. Check his website for more info, or just take our word for it; you need to see him live.
“Whether playing solo or with his trio, or with his quintet The Boogie Woogie Boys, Leyland's playing displays an infectious spontaneity, providing plenty of surprises for the listener. While he possesses the necessary vocabulary to pay tribute to the greats of old, he refuses to be limit himself to this & prefers to let each performance be an opportunity to say something new. His repertoire spans the Ragtime era to the 1950s & includes a number of self written material.”

Good times and great music! John Cocuzzi is a New Orleans jazz influenced performer on the keys and vocals, while Kristy Cocuzzi has a passionate sultry voice and plays clarinet and sax. They bring lyrics to life through vocal interpretations of songs from the great crooners of the 1930’s and 40’s, the swingin’ sounds of Frank Sinatra, Jimmy Dorsey, and Artie Shaw, the vocal stylings of Ella Fitzgerald and Miss Peggy Lee, and piano grooves from Nat “King” Cole, Ray Charles, and Fats Domino. The Cocuzzi “Courtet” packs one hell of a jazz party punch!

Formed in the fall of 2009, the Bathtub Gin Serenaders came together through a shared love of pre-WWII hot jazz and early blues. The band plays classics from the American songbook plus original and contemporary tunes inspired by the era. The Serenaders have entertained audiences at the Britt Festival, Oregon Shakespeare Festival Green Show, Jimmy Mak's Supper Club, the Ashland Armory, Siskiyou Folk and Bluegrass Festival, Prospect Music in the Mountains, and many other venues. Their upbeat, good-time music appeals to young and old and makes people move!
