Sacramento Blues Society Hall of Fame Inductee 2024, Danny Sandoval is an accomplished saxophonist based currently Sacramento, California via the East Bay Area. His passion for music ignited at a young age, leading him to the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts in Richmond during his teenage years, where he honed his skills and nurtured his dream of becoming a professional jazz musician. By the age of 16, Danny was performing up to five nights a week in San Francisco. At 17, he had the remarkable opportunity to play alongside jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie, a highlight of his early career. Throughout his career, Danny has collaborated with renowned artists such as Sista Monica and Terrie Odabi. His performances have taken him across the nation and internationally, including appearances in Japan, Chile, Mexico, Switzerland, France and India. In recognition of his contributions to the blues genre, Danny was inducted into the Sacramento Blues Society Hall of Fame in 2024. Beyond his musical endeavors, Danny has balanced a career in public service. He has worked as an assistant in the Assembly Health Committee and held positions at the California Health Care Foundation in Sacramento. Additionally, has volunteered as a chairperson for the Intergenerational Service Commission of the West Sacramento Parks and Recreation. Danny’s dedication to both his art and community exemplifies his commitment to enriching cultural heritage and public life.
